Minor League Update after Week Two

The second week of the Minor League season picked up where the first week left off:  lots of high drama and competitive play.  On Monday, Allstate picked up their first win of the season, beating SPC 10-3.  Ten year olds Rodney Atkinson, Tate McLendon and Bridges Teal led the charge for Allstate, with first year player J'shawn Anderson stating his case for Rookie of the Year.

Monday night's second game saw Quez Hadley's outstanding pitching performance come up short against Hartsville Surgical.  Playing from behind the whole game, the Fighting Stethoscopes rallied to score 7 in the bottom of the fifth and sealed the game with McKendrie Douglas retrieving an arrant throw and then throwing Hadley out at the plate.  The final score was 10-8 in favor of Hartsville Surgical.

The close games continued on Tuesday.  Thanks to some great play in the outfield (notably from J'sahwn Anderson and Jacob Perdue), Allstate kept up their winning ways by defeating MKA 9-7.

In Tuesday's second game, SPC knocked Hartsville Surgical from the ranks of the unbeaten by the score of 10-6.  Xavion Robinson pitched a masterpiece.  The bats of Tagan Roscoe and Spence Tallon proved to be too much for HSC.

On Thursday, MKA bounced back from their close game with Allstate to defeat Jiffy Print 11-1.

Standings after Week 2:

Hartsville Surgical 3-1
Allstate 2-2
SPC 2-2
MKA 2-2
Jiffy Print 1-3
