50th Anniversary of Hartsville National Winning the World Series Championship

2017 marks the 50th anniversary of Hartsville National's Majors All Star Team winning the Dixie Youth World Series Championship. 

Many of these players are still in Hartsville.  If you see them around town, congratulate them on the 50th anniversary of representing our town in Red Bank, TN and winning the Dixie Youth World Series.

For the 2017 season, Dixie Youth Baseball has new pitching rules.  Pitch counts will be enforced, as well as the traditional six innings per week rule.

Registration Dates Set for 2017

It's almost time for registration for the 2017 season at Hartsville National!  Come see us at the T.B. Thomas Center at Byerly Park on February 17 (5-7pm), February 18 (10am-1pm), February 24 (5-7pm) or February 25 (10am-1pm) to register. 

The cost for players in Farm, Minors and O-Zone (league ages 7-12) is $60.  For Instructional League players (league ages 5-6), the cost is $40. 

Players will be fitted for uniforms at registration. 

The next step after registration is Spring Training.  For O-Zone, that will be on Sunday, February 26, at 2pm.  For Minors and Farm, Spring Training will be Saturday, March 4.  Times for Farm and Minors have not been set yet.

Beginning with the 2017 season, all players in Farm, Minors and O-Zone will be placed in the draft.

Annual Meeting to be held on December 28

The Hartsville National Dixie Youth Baseball Annual Meeting will be held on December 28 at 6pm in the T.B. Thomas Center at Byerly Park.  This is an open meeting.  Board positions and league vice-president positions will be filled at this meeting.  If you are looking to get involved with another outstanding season of baseball, this is the meeting for you.

Dixie Youth Baseball Announces Rule Changes for 2017

Dixie Youth Baseball has announced its rule changes for the 2017 season.  There are changes in several aspects of the game.  All league officials, parents and coaches are encouraged to review the rule changes.

In addition to the 2017 rule changes, Dixie Youth Baseball will be making bat changes for the 2018 season.  This was announced prior to the start of the 2016 season:

Effective January 1, 2018, all 2 1/4" bats must meet new performance standards established by USA Baseball, the national governing body of amateur baseball in the United States. The new bats will be available for purchase in September 2017. All BPF 1.15 bats will not be approved for DYB tournament play beginning in 2018.

Our 2016 AA All Stars Set State Mark for Runs in One Inning

Hartsville National's 2016 Farm League (AA) All Stars set a South Carolina State Tournament record by scoring ten runs in one inning.  The record was part of a thrilling postseason that included a championship at the Greenwood Invitational, a second place finish at the Jefferson Invitational, a sub-district championship, a district runner-up finish (in an epic 3-game series against Hartsville Northern that included 3 walk off hits!) and a Top 4 finish at the state tournament.
