Hartsville National will be hosting its first Futures Games at the 2016 Closing Ceremony. These games will showcase the talent our league has to look forward to in 2017.
The concept is simple:
Registered players with league ages of 8 and 9 will play in the Minor League Futures Games and players with league ages of 10 and 11 will play in the O-Zone Futures Games. Rules for the game will follow regular season league rules.
Coaches for the games will be announced this week. If the weather and playoff cooperate, teams will have one short practice after the regular season is over (to go over the rule differences for the 8 and 10 year olds).
This should be a fun and exciting finish to our 2016 regular season.
At the time of this posting, the exact date of the game has not be determined, though the league's initial guess is May 19.
