MKA and SPC met in their long-awaited first half playoff game on May 20. Through 4 innings, the game was a pitchers duel between Cole Winburn of SPC and Daniel Norwood of MKA. In the 4th though, the bats came alive and teams traded the lead back and forth. When all was said and done, MKA, sparked by two late inning extra-base hits from Shane Dillon, was victorious 12-7.
With three regular season games remaining, the second half championship in Minors is still up for grabs. For MKA, it's simple; win their last game and it'll be time to break out the bottles of sparkling grape juice. If MKA loses its last game, victories by SPC and Jiffy Print in their season finales could force a two or three-way tie for the second half.
Congratulations to MKA on their first half championship in Minors!
What better way to determine who gets to be the home team in a playoff game than a best-of-three series of Rock-Paper-Scissors?
